The large-scale installation, ‘Gleaming Lights of the Souls’ by Yayoi Kusama, is one of the most beloved works from the Collection. It is available as a motif on a large umbrella and foldable totebag from both shop and webshop. An absolute must for a walk on a rainy day or out shopping.

Characterised by a unique understanding of materials, glazes, and an exquisite craftsmanship, Danish design studio Palshus stands as siginificant chapter in Danish design history from the mid-20th century. Producing their designs using chamotte techniques, glossy glazes as well as matte haresfur glazes, the colours were often typically Scandinavian; earth tones in blues, browns and beige.

A carefully curated selection of designs from Palshus is now available in-store only. Hand-picked by Louisiana Design Shop, who visited the family estate near Sorø, where Henrik Linnemann Schmidt – son of the founders Per and Annelise – presented designs from the former production. The selection includes bowls, vases, and table lamps.

In collaboration with Jacob Bille Vintage, who sells vintage clothes and accessories in the town Gilleleje and in Copenhagen, Louisiana Design Store has dedicated a special part of the shop, on the lower level, to a handpicked selection of vintage goods, primarily women’s clothing, bags and scarves.

The collaboration is part of Louisiana’s sustinability goals of reducing CO2 emissions from the value chain and increase the circularity of materials and textiles.

Please note that it is not possible to return vintage goods.

Our

sustainability goals

At Louisiana Shop & Webshop we work hard to reach the museum’s ambitious sustainability goals.

Our assortment, including the production of our own products, is constantly being renewed with alternatives that have a lower climate impact. Leather is being phased out and replaced by, for example, apple leather, and we have new collaborations with suppliers who use recycled wood and polyester as well as deadstock and materials such as eelgrass and organic cotton. One of our goals is to reduce the amount of new plastic, and today the majority of our plastic is recycled or replaced by alternative materials. The selection of ceramics has a Danish focus, crafts are from local producers and as part of a more circular mindset, vintage clothing is now part of our range.
